Your local Wallymart::: "Equate" (store brand) Motion Sickness Pills, 100 for about three bucks. Active ingredients: Dimenhydrinate 50 mg. (Antiemetic)

Insight Pharmaceuticals (the makers of "Bonnie") bought Triptone some time around 2009. There has been a trickle of supply since then. I was even able to get it from Target, by asking at the pharmacy counter. It was an over the counter item that was in their computer system, but they didn't have regular shelf space for it. They would special order it for you for less than $3 for a box of 12!

I have now found out that because of low sales, they are no longer making Triptone! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE call Insight Pharmaceuticals800-344-7239 and contact them,http://www.bonine.com/contact-us , with a request to bring it back! PLEASE spread the word. Maybe some diehard enthusiast can make a difference.

The company's info is:
Insight Pharmaceuticals, LLC. 1170 Wheeler Way, Suite 150. Langhorne, PA 19047-1749. T: 1-800-344-7239.

But it's the same as the Wal Mart generic brand, isn't it?

The only thing we found that works in a inhaler called Quease Ease Aromatic Inhaler Buy Quease Ease Aromatic Inhaler, Essential Oil Therapy & More | drugstore.com . My wife gets sick at the drop of a hat, but this stuff works. I'm not one to try natural remedy's, but it did work. She still had a motion like she was on the boat for about 5 days after we got back, but she kept her lunch down.

The main ingredient is the same, yes. It's the other ingredients that make a difference in some of the side effects.
The "original" Dramamine & the Wal Mart version both leave a horrible taste in my mouth & still make me sleepy, where I didn't have that issue with Triptone. I accept those because I'd rather be sleepy than sick, but it makes me very frustrated when there was a really good product out there...

I have had good luck by preventatively taking one Meclizine the night before, one the morning when I get up, and another as the boat is leaving. Liveaboards, always take it the first day or two, then no need. I highly recommend the preventative doses.

I think that Meclizine contains the same active ingredients as Bonine for much less $$. I buy it at Walmart - have to ask pharmacist for it though - 50 25mg tablets for about $6.

It doesn't make me sleepy - nor most people - I only know one person who gets sleepy from Meclizine.

Mescaline? I bet that's a fun dive ;)
