WK, you really spotted a ton of really beautiful flatworms and nudis!
Even the rare Colemini!!

The diving conditions did not looks that great.... tons of particulate in the water...and it looks like a fair amount of current.

Would you recommend the place?

It’s muck diving. Lots of rubbish and poor viz. Some current, but nothing excessive for me as I am quite used to current.

The June video footage is from 11 dives over 4 days … There should have been more subjects but I screwed up lots … and I did not have a macro lens so I could not do justice to subjects as small as 2mm.

I’m going back next week for 5 more days of diving. Check out my July video from Semporna, which should be ready around the end of the month if nothing goes wrong. I still won’t have a macro lens but should be able to handle subjects down to about 1cm with wet diopters.

Ask me whether I would recommend the place after that trip.

BTW, did you see the Melibe Engeli? It is hard to see as it was quite transparent. I placed it just before Melibe Colemani.

Yes I did spot it...but it just looks like a piece of see through jelly jiggling around! Haha
Really need to try and isolate it from the background...which I'd imagine is rather tricky.

I could get a stage, but I would much rather not carry more gear.

Melibe Engeli and Melibe Colemani plus lots of orher stuff in 11 dives. Do you need any other recommendation?

Were you diving off Mabul?
I loved my time there more than 10 years ago, there is awesome macro off Mabul and Kapali, I also made 3 trips to Sipidan during that trip so that was awesome.

I made a trip to Romblon for Melibe Colmani and Engeli, they have other great macro there too. That was some great macro diving. There is also a site off Banka thats loaded with Colmani.

They are really hard to get good shots of, they always seem to be shallow so black background is hard, if I ever go for them again I will have a stage, all you really need is 2 pieces of black matte plastic that hinge.

Yes, I did enjoy the diving. Finished the June trip, went back home and immediately booked for July. Sadly, I have no more gaps in my schedule for the rest of 2023 so I can’t return until 2024.
