Great trip report! I really enjoyed the photos, as well. Man, I am soooo jealous! My club went to Marsa Shagra last month but I remained homa because of work. All I heard from them was, "Elpinstone this and Oceanic Whitetips that". Annoying as hell!

Great report. I was in Marsa in July. Did one week at St Johns on a liveaboard and the second week stayed at the Sol Y Mar Resort. We had a great time but did not see any big stuff at all. Bit disappointing but it beats working. Emperor Divers were excellent at Marsa Alam but the Sol Y Mar Resort was awful.

Would definitely agree with you on that one. Sol Y Mar was full of rude Italians & I wasn't particularly impressed with the restaurant. Fortunately I was out diving all day so I didn't have to worry too much, it had a bed & shower which was all I was interested in.
