Trip to Keys from Tampa - need some help....

I would really like to bring my boat down to the keys and have some fun for a few days diving, snorkeling, etc with a few friends. A few of them are not certified, so I need a location where we can do both. It is only a 17'7" Center console so I would not be able to go far. I was told Looe Key would be a great place. Any other suggestions?

Any cheap hotel suggestions with a ramp and dive shop nearby?

You can try Looe Key Reef Resort (305-872-2215). They're at MM 27.5 and have a cheap hotel, boat ramp and dockage and a dive shop onsite. It's about a 5 mile run out the reef, so pretty close.

There are some public bt ramps in the keys, harry harris pk has one in the upper keys
