Hi All 😃
Experienced diver here planning a trip to Hawaii in August, which are the must-dos you’d recommend?

So far on my list I have: 1) Ni’ihau; 2) Black Water in Big Island; 3) Manta night dive in big island

The last two are probably quite commercial but sound worth.

Thanks!!🙏

Rent some tanks and head south to Miloli’i. Great dives from the rock or the cement fishing dock.

Niihau is a trip from Kauai, the other two are from Big Island.
If you add Maui to the mix, then Cathedrals, Molokini backwall, Turtle town.
Oahu has decent wrecks on SE side.

West Maui is very easy to dive from the shore. If you feel comfortable following easily seen landmarks it can safely be done without a guide. If you have your own equipment it will be the least expensive thing you do on the island.

The trip over to the S coast of lanai is worth it. I’ve also enjoyed my trips to molokini, although apparently it’s no where as good as it used to be 20+ years ago.

If you like shore diving, August is a great time to enjoy the North Shore and West side of O'ahu. North Shore: 3 tables out to the left or to the right around to Shark's Cove, or begin at Shark's Cove and go right or left. West side Electric Beach and Makaha Caverns are fun. Pinnacles and the Navy tug are good on the South side by boat.

Thank you all for the advices!

I noticed none of you commented on the three options I have listed, any you think may not be worth?

Thanks again :)

sorry I do not have any direct experience with any of those three dives.

Shore diving on the NW side of the big island (e.g. Puako) is cheap and fun.
