Hola all. My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Grenada. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a good place to stay and a dive shop. I love wreck diving and it looks like a fun place to be on top of the water. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks and Happy New Year.

We stayed at True Blue for a few days after a liveaboard trip but decided to veg and see the island (which I found much more interesting as a place than most Caribbean destinations I've been to) rather than doing more diving land-based. So we didn't actually dive with the on-site op Aquanauts. But I've always heard good things about them, and got a good vibe from checking out the shop and also a chat with the owner at a cocktail party. While I haven't researched other options completely (or lately), staying and diving there seemed like one of the best or maybe the best option if you're focused mostly on diving. The hotel is slightly quirky (mostly in a good way) and I would stay there again, though checking out a different resort on the island would also be tempting to me. TB is located kind of off on it's own away from most of the other resorts and restaurants and everything, for better or worse. The food at TB was unexpectedly some of the better we had on the island.

Did not stay on the island, but did dive with Aquanauts and they were great. Due to time in port we could only do one dive on a reef near the sunken cruise ship, and the crew/dm were outstanding.

I went through the threads here and did some online searching and chose Aquanauts since they have been really highly recommended by quite a lot of people. I booked a couple of weeks ago by email for just over a week from now, and they have been very responsive within hours of my emails. I had some requests for which reefs/wrecks I wanted to do based on recommendations, if they have small tanks, pickup time, etc. and they got back to me right away and we're all set. I'll let you know how it goes when I get back towards the end of January... :)

I'm back and Aquanauts was great. They were punctual each morning when picking me up and dropping me back right away. They split the boats up by experience and certifications so everyone got the kind of dives they wanted. They gave very thorough dive briefings and paid a lot of attention to safety. They had good communication between themselves and knew a lot about their customers and their experiences. They kept an eye on things while giving us some freedom to explore or take a little longer taking pictures.

We had awesome dives, the reefs were colourful and healthy. Most of the sites had mostly small critters, but we got to do the Hema I and Shark Reef on the Atlantic side which had all kinds of nurse sharks, a reef shark, spotted eagle rays, stingrays, hawksbill seaturtles, and a sharptail eel. We found a green moray eel, two spotted eels and garden eels at the Molinere underwater sculptures and marine park area. We found two sea horses on the Shakem wreck. All in all, we had excellent dives with Aquanauts and their crew! :)
