We chose Den Laman over Buddy's for our first trip to Bonaire, and after being there were glad we did. We made sure to check out other resorts, and found the size of both Buddy's and Capt Don's to be a bit more than we would have wanted. The smallness of Den Laman appealed to us, as did the price which was better than both of the others. The other place we really considered was Golden Reef Inn, which we liked after visiting, but their being off the ocean kept us from considering them for our return trip next year...we'll be staying at Den Laman again.

We've stayed at Buddy's several times now and Den Lamen this last summer. Never stayed in the older part of Buddy so I can't speak on those units , but the portion that used to be Lion Dive (I believe) had nice spacious units that fit 4 to 6 divers very well. I like the extended access to gear and tanks that Buddy provides and Den Lamen is small, so has fewer amenities, but I'd stay at either again and they both are on the same section of Bari Reef.
This Jan we are trying something different and getting a place off the water to save money and then booking a Buddy shore package because of the Notrox. Thought we'd experiment with different options this time around. 45 days til Bonaire!!!

You should be able to find prices under $1000 per person for sure. We stayed at the Belmar which was a very nice condo had two couples in a two bedroom and it was about 650 per person.

If you are getting $1000 you should shop around.
