Trip Report: The Magnet / Cathedral - Belongas Bay, Lombok

So the dive plan was to drop deep and zig zag along a wall, waiting to see the hammerheads. We did a negative entry and tried to fin fast to 15 meters to get close to the wall. We did a negative entry and tried to fin fast to 15 meters to get close to the wall. I had a problem, as I didn't have enough weight, but the guide kindly passed me an extra kilo.

Jay and his wife are still operating. I dove with them for 5 days at these sites. I plan on going back again next year. Yeah challenging diving but all good fun. Down currents can be crazy my buddy and I got caught in one went down to 43m but we calmly got control and back to join up with Jay.

He thought we had seen something interesting and were receeding from view lol.

So Jay from Wildscuba is not anymore the only operator in the area diving these dive sites. I just popped by a new structure called Dive Dude Belongas. They are new and have location / accomodation on the Bay itself. That made my trip easier as well. Diving was amazing really, and the two instructors provided too notch service. But indeed challenging down there

Thanks for the update. Sure is fun diving though. Yeah if can save time getting from resort to pickup that would be nice. Silver Ferns was a nice place to stay though really enjoyed staying there.

I'm not surprised another centre has opened and close to Belongas bay. Belongas really does offer incredible diving and a sheer amount of fish life. Plus it is not far from Bali so no need to get on another plane. Are prices similar between the two centres?
