Of course, I caught a cold on the boat! Bah... better than catching one before, I suppose.

A bunch of people were sick, but came on the trip anyway since it was basically a big group of friends - even though they didn't dive. I remember thinking that I was bound to catch something in such close quarters with so many snifflers!

Next trip: remember to bring extra zinc and Vit C....

Great report & great pictures. Can't wait to come out to Cali next week. Hoping to get in a day of diving at Catalina. Was also hoping for Tuesday afternoon/evening in Laguna or a Thursday night dive.

Anastasia - what camera set-up are you guys using?

Nothing too fancy... it's a Sealife Reefmaster Digital with external strobe (and frequently a 8x macro lens). Got it for my husband for his birthday last year - I've only used it myself on one dive!

It actually takes pretty good pictures, but you can only access one button through the housing, so you have to make sure you've got all the settings just right before you go in!

We're hoping to treat ourselves to a Canon 300D, and eventually get a housing for it... at which point I'll probably inherit the Reefmaster. :) Although honestly, I kind of like being the one underwater who's NOT taking pictures. I often see all kinds of cool stuff while he's concentrating on perfecting one little shot.

How long will you be in California? Did you already get your fill of boat recommendations from the board? :)
