Dive Operator: Reef Pirates
Location: Oahu
Time: December 7 & 8, 2009
Water Temp: 74

I apologize for the delay in getting this trip report posted. I dove with Reef Pirates in December. I know that I’ve made previous comments about this trip but I didn’t provide a “trip report” and based on the fact that I’m always looking for dive operator feedback, I thought I would complete a report.

I would like to first tell you that Reef Pirates is a great operation that is really focused on their customer’s, from every perspective. RP is comprised of the owner; Sean and a DM Justin. Justin dove with us in the morning and Sean was with us in the afternoons.

I dove with Reef Pirates for a total of 8 dives over two days.

Dive 1 – YO257 / San Pedro Shipwreck’s
Dive 2 – Nautilus Shipwreck
Dive 3 – Nautilus Shipwreck
Dive 4 – Kewalo Pipe
Dive 5 – Sea Tiger Shipwreck
Dive 6 – Kewalo Pipe / Horseshoe Reef (Eagle Ray & Sting Ray)
Dive 7 – Turtle Canyons (Lots of turtles)
Dive 8 – Kewalo Pipe

Highlights:

**- The visibility was pretty darn good at 80-100 feet on every dive.
**- It was nice to take part in “valet” diving. They carried my equipment and prepared my gear for each dive.
**- Food/snacks were provided after each dive.
**- We got to see lots of turtles in Turtle Canyons, believe it or not!
**- No cattle boat here, I dove with one other person.

Negative:

**- They don’t own their own boat. They utilize space on the Kahala Kai. This is negative as it lessens your ability to get to dive sites you are really interested in getting to and it increases the possibility of diving in the same locations if you’re diving multiple days. Still at the same time, I was 100% satisfied with where I went.

Recommendation:

I’d definitely dive with them again. They are first class!! Sean was always very responsive via e-mail and was eager to answer questions that I had. I should also note that “Gabe Scotti” of Kaimana Divers was also diving on the boat and he was a really friendly guy. I can tell based on what I observed that he took great care of his customer’s. So, I would dive with him as well!
