We booked some space on the Tunaseazure run out of NESS http://northeastscubasupply.com/store/dive-schedule/info_9.html destination was the Mohawk http://njscuba.net/sites/site_mohawk.html We left the dock by 6:30 am with 4 divers and were underway and cruising at 30 knots in no time. Its a short 30 min ride to the Mohawk.Seas were running 1-2' at first...we we're on site and i hit the water at 7:28 am,vis was less than 5' down to 30' deep which is also where the thermocline was, where temps were 49,vis opened up to 10-15' below that.We were hooked directly to the bow of the wreck. We spent 45 minutes on the bottom @ 80' poking and prodding around, nothing this time. After a 1:15 surface interval and seas building to 2-3',we hit the water for a second dive at 9:45 am viz down to 30' was the same, but on the wreck it opened up to a solid 20'.We swan from the bow to the boilers and back for a dive time of 40 minutes with a few Sea bass and 2 lobsters for our efforts. We saw at least 4-5 other lobsters that were easy 3-5 lb ers but they were pretty far under the wreck:(.Nothing shiny came up but there are lots of China shards around for the dedicated sand fanner. We unhooked and rode back to the dock by 11:30am,just as seas were building 3-4'!
