I managed to get two dives in on Friday July 3rd on the Pinthis with Cape Ann Charters (Daybreaker).

Capt. Matt and Capt. Marissa drove the boat down from Gloucester early Friday morning and were nice enough to pick us up directly out of Scituate Harbor and from there it was quick 40-45 minute ride out to the dive site.

We arrived at the dive site and happened to find there was already a mooring on her bow possibly installed by the Gauntlet or another charter boat earlier this year. Good topside conditions, slight swell in the morning but the seas flattened out in the afternoon.

She's definitely falling apart more and more every year though still a very nice dive and easily penetrable wreck. Large schools of pollock on the wreck, plenty of northern red anemones inside and outside the wreck.

There was a large wolf fish under the rudder off to the side.

AM Dive - Dive #1 Max depth: 98ft. Runtime: 83 minutes Visibility: ~25ft Water temp: 44f at depth
PM Dive - Dive #2 Max depth: 102ft. Runtime: 76 minutes Visibility: ~25-30ft Water temp: 44ft at depth

I took some GoPro footage

That wreck is always a fun dive. I haven't been out there for a good 4 or 5 years, my last time was also on Daybreaker. Never had a bad dive on that boat. The Pinthis sure is showing her age, I can see how much has changed just from your (as always) excellent video.

There as a wolf fish under that rudder when I was there last, I wonder if it's the same one. Kim Catlin set me up and damn near gave me a heart attack. He knew it was there and mimicked lobster claws snapping in the water and pointed under the rudder. I bolt over to the rudder and stick my face underneath and found myself about a foot way from that mouthful of teeth. As the story goes, I zoomed away from that rudder like my arse was on fire. That son of a %!^&# still laughs himself to tears whenever he tells that story.
