I have notice on a few posts people have a trip countdown. Is this an option on this board or are the posters pasting in some java script or something?

Go to "User CP" in the menu bar, click it, scroll down it is under Misc.chugmeister:
Just fill it in and save. There are many feature availlable to you in the User CP.
