I'm a Fish!
Ok, so I have been diving for a long time and I'm not sure what to try to correct this problem.

I tried my double 120s in the pool with my semi dry suit, and for some reason I was constantly battling feet up trim. It almost felt like wearing a dry suit and letting the air traveling to the feet. I tried burping the suit...nogo. Tried dropping the tanks down to the lowest setting on the plate...nogo. I'm thinking either its the suit or the position of the tanks putting me feet up but I have no idea which.

Suggestions?

I had the same issue. Do you also have troulbe swimming face down on the surface? I put weights just above the tank boots 1lb on each tank works well. This year I put a 2 lb weight on the lower band centered, haven't dove it yet. Maybe this weekend.

What were you diving prior to this post/problem? What tanks? Singles or doubles? What exposure suit (wet or dry)? Is your point that all is the same except for the new 120 tanks?

I've never found anything other than core strengthening and arching my back to do anything for trim. Tanks and plates and suits don't matter much usually for me. I've got HP100s and LP108s and they both dive similiar aside from the 108's are water heaters. Are these the skinny HP120s? Those are quite nice from what I recall... again core strength and arching the back.

Seriously? So with any/all the above you can cease motion and hang in 0-15 trim by arching your back. Bull****.

Happy to go dive with you anytime.
It isn't about the gear, at least for me.
I've seen team mates struggle with this and it's true imo.
I always jam my head to the isolator, keep my eyeballs up. Arch the back, squeeze the hind cheeks. It's my recipe for trim in any gear. It works.

That's why it doesn't work for me, I dive ID's, I don't have an isolator! Sounds uncomfortable and distracting, to each is own.

A lot of folks have the backplate too high and/or have fins that are too light. Try fixing those two things.

Arching the back isn't a good solution. It's scuba, it should be comfortable and fun, not an excercise in misery. The isolator shouldn't effect your field of view.

Sound like you have the plate (not the cylinders) to high up on your back. Adjust your harness. I have a cinch and I can adjust on the fly.

Could also try heavier fins or angle weight?!?

Would love to know what wing (shape&size) you are using.

Ive dove doubles before years ago, albiet not with this suit and not had any issues.

@ big bubba- the tanks are 8" Lps.

@AJ- the wing is a horseshoe HOG 58.

I'm going to adjust the bp to be a little lower, hopefully that fixes the issue.
