Got a dry suit, I have asked to attach a trilobite and put a strap to hold the diving computer in place, both on the sleeve.

I plan to do some GUE training in the future.
I was wondering if GUE (or DIR) makes any mention on which side a diving computer should be worn and if there is a preferred side to attach a cutter like a trilobite.

I think I have read somewhere that the computer if used should be wrist and on the right hand

computer on the right so you can manipulate buoyancy while watching your depth.
Compass is on the left wrist

I would have a trilobite on both of those devices so you have one on each arm. They are typically threaded thru the straps/bungee that hold the computer/compass to your forearm, not two independent devices

Yep computer on right is pretty much the norm. It has the added benefit of being a bit easier to read when using lights.

I actually tend to adjust buoyancy with right hand when using lights. Easier to me. Or using whichever hand is more available at the moment. The drysuit out valve restricts left hand movement angles a little bit so that is maybe also why it is easier to have computer on right. And if you dont have oled computer you can shine the light easily to charge the fluorescent display background

In the photos, you can see that it is on the diver's right arm. Also, buried in all that information is this: "The bottom timer/depth gauge needs to be viewable at all times and should be placed on the right hand."

Note that GUE's materials don't refer to a "computer," even though almost everyone uses a computer rather than a "bottom timer/depth gauge."

So you are attaching something permanently to your suit rather than just using straps that come with a dive computer? What is the benefit of doing that vs just using the dc's strap?

So I am only adding straps permanently to my drysuit so it does not slide.

I’ll get you a picture when I am home.

You basically have straps in the direction of your arm then you put the computer strap inside so it won’t slide up and down. But the computer is not attached to the suit.

I must be missing something. The trilobite sheath comes with a loop for threading through webbing or otherwise attaching it. It is incredibly common to just thread dive computer wrist bungee straps through this sheath loop, so that when you put your dive computer on, the trilobite is just on the inside of your wrist, very accessible. There isn't much motion of a wrist mounted computer on a dry suit, never heard of sliding being a problem if the bungees are the correct size.

I have never seen or heard of anyone trying to attach a trilobite to a dry suit sleeve directly, although I guess if you weren't using a wrist mounted computer, you could just wear the trilobite like a watch with some bungee cord.

You are right, it makes sense and I gave up on that idea as it didn’t seem right.

You were right that you missed something: you missed that I am an idiot

Hah! You are NOT an idiot at all. You asked for advice online, received it, and changed your plan based on new information. Not only is that the act of a very smart individual, it's probably the first time that it has ever happened on the Internet! :)

So that’s what the straps look like, I hope it makes it clearer. The second one was the one for the trilobite, I asked them to change it to a normal strap for compass or computer.
