Just returned from St Croix yesterday. Dove with Cane Bay. Excellent experience!! Great DM's; diving conditions were great. I would go back in a minute. Dove 2 days 4 boat dives: Wrecks at Butter bay, the pier and the Salt river east and west.

Jim, thanks for posting...I totally agree, or I wouldn't have moved here last June. :)

I just got back on the 14th having stayed at Cane Bay. If you want to dive, eat, sleep this is the USVI to go to. Did 16 dives in 5 days. The staff at Cane Bay is great. Sea Mount, Pinnacle, Salt River Canyon are great dives, especially Salt River. The Pier ain't the old pier of lore (that having been destroyed in a hurricane) and while I enjoyed the day and night dive there I was a little disappointed. The shore dive from the shop is well worth an afternoon kick-out each day. Eat at Cane Bay is great as is Off the Wall. We'll be back, probably after another visit or two to CCV in Roatan.

WOW...that is a FABULOUS turtle pic!!!!! So glad you enjoyed your stay and dives here. So NOT surprised. :) After living here for 35 years, Cane Bay is STILL my partner's favorite dive on island.

We just got home from Off the Wall ourselves, the Painkillers and pizza were pretty darned awesome. :thumb:

You're welcome...send me a PM before you head down here and maybe we can buddy up!

p.s. where in SoCal? I grew up in Lancaster. My dad used to dive for abalone off Catalina.

I am also traveling to USVI for diving in June and wonder if the rain/pr-hurricane winds effect the water clarity around all the the USVI as well as BVI in mid to late June.

There are never any promises with weather forecasting :) but June's generally a super nice time to dive here.
