List,
I am interested in traveling down to Southern Leyte near Amagusan Point and also to Eschonchada point Dinagat.I will be flying into Manila and departing from there. Could anybody tell me what is the best way to travel (except flying) to these two places and roughly how much the cost is. Is there any dive shops in that area? Thank you for your assistance in advance

I checked both of the websites and they only tell you how to get there by airplane. How can we get there if we depart from Manila without flying into Cebu?

The most convenient option might be to take a ferry from Manila to Cebu since you can get that route any day of the week. Regular fare should be about P2500 per person. I don't know how much for extra baggage/freight charges, but should be reasonable. Then catch another to Leyte.

I think there is a ferry company that goes direct to Ormoc and Maasin but only leaves a couple times per week and might be slower.

Or you could take a bus, might be the cheapest:wink: . But I would rather take the ferry to have a place to stetch out, and of course karaoke if you are in the mood.

Andi, there is a terminal in Cubao, Quezon City right in front of the Ali Mall (yes, named after Muhammad Ali) where buses can take you as far as Mindanao. The bus goes through Batangas, Mindoro, Iloilo and other Visayan provinces via the Maharlika highway and series of ferry rides. Its one way to see the countryside Andi.

Is Ali Mall in Quezon city near to the airport in Manila? That sounds like what I would like to do is take a nice trip down south. I have only been way down south to Samar many years ago. Would not mind seeing it again.

Yes, just an hour away via EDSA road (main thoroughfare), traffic usually.
