Travel from La Ceiba to Utila

Hello!
My daughter and I are travelling to La Ceiba, Honduras and are staying on the mainland. We'd like to do a day trip to Utila. Does anyone know of a way to get over to Utila for a day trip? The ferry leaves La Ceiba at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 2:30p.m. which just doesn't give us enough time. I was looking at Sosa and Atlantic airlines and there schedule looks like they don't offer same day return trips. Any ideas anyone? Your help is much appreciated.

Yeah, I think you are SOL. Unless you pay a local boat to take you there and back for the day, but I would imagine that would be significant $$$.

There's the Utila Princess. Their schedule would give you about 6 hrs. on Utila. But I've recently read that it's unreliable.

The Utila Princess will only give us about 3 1/2 hours. I think a local boat might be the answer but if anyone else has made the trip, I'd appreciate any input or info. Thanks!
