Hi All
Can anyone recommend a BCD that is light and small for purely recreational single tank warm water diving? As I usually backpack when travelling, and only dive when opportunity arises during the travel, so packing it light and compact is essential. I saw some isoteric brand somewhere but can't remember, other than the usual suspect like Diverite Transpac, Halcyon and Scubapro etc.

hey i would definately check out the zeagle brigade or escape. both of these bc's are great the escape will pack lighter because of the lighter harness. the brigade will pack up a slight bit heavier becuase of the ranger harness but will be a bit tougher. i can vouch for the brigade i am constantly in the air from country to country and it packs up just fine. anyway check them out at scubatoys.com. cant comment on the bp/wing thing dont really care for them. if you dive only when you are on vacation and when you get the chance i would not recommend buying a bc at all. if you do less than 15 dives a year i think buying gear is just a mistake. unless you have alot of money. wish i did! good luck!

I had one for a while. It packs thin and has good lift and is quite tough. Also there is a neat kit that you can get that has a light, guage retractor & knife. That keeps everything you need in one spot. It is light too. I have several different BC's, BP's and harnesses too. I think that it is too bulky. You never know, maybe a BC makes a good pillow. :D
