Anyone here diving the transplate SS with the Venture wing and singles? I use x8 130s and LP 120s and am looking to streamline my rig for hunting/gathering. Suggestions for good pricing? I know that LP has the wing for 245 but I also know a lot of folks don't like them. (Not trying to start a troll here). Anyone know of any end of year/cold winter sale that is worth looking into?

I'm not sure about where to get a good deal other than that I know some of the people that work for Dive Rite. I've got a SS transplate with a Venture wing. Typically I use single AL 80's on it but I have dove with a HP 120 before and required no additional weight at all. I was actually overweighted on that dive since all I had was a 3mm wetsuit with no hood or gloves.

Unless you're a very bouyant person, I'd consider the AL plate if you don't typically wear very much exposure protection. Since you're from NC, I'm betting that you use more than just a 3mm suit so you'd probably be fine with the SS plate.

Mkutnya,

Thanks for the reply. I do wear a 3mm farmer john and jacket so I'm doubled up in the torso... but that is only for a few months in the winter. (we dive offshore in the stream). During the May-September months I just dive a skin. Was planning on getting an AL plate also but later this spring.

How does that venture wing help your trim with the longer 120? Compared to the regular wings do you feel less waist heavy? My biller floats and that adds a little buoyancy.

Cheers, Roadtrip.
