Hi, i`m just wondering about buying a wing and going onto doubles, so i`ve been looking at the transpac ii harness with a dive rite rec wing on it or something like that, well i was wondering what do i need to buy, is it just the harness and the wing or do i need to buy one of these s\s back plates??? or is that incorpoated into the transpac ii harness?? thanks Tom

Hi..in order to use the transpac II Harness with doubles (using bands) you will need a couple of SS plates which are sell by diverite for this purpose.

but in my opinion...i have a transpacII (i use it sometimes for singles only actually) and based in field experiences (sorry guys 100% DIR) i think this is a good package..but if you have not buyed it yet...i´d advice you about get a backplate with a recwing (if you will also use them for singles) or classic wing...for doubles only, would be (without doubts) a much better rig... (of course you can get a halcyon wing but personally i hate to waste money buying VERY overpriced gear....)

regards...
Will

To use the Transpac II with doubles all you need are the TP II harness, a wing (Trek or larger) and 2 stabilizing plates. You will probably want a crotch strap as well, but this is not strictly necessary.

This link to the TransPac II user manual explains it all.

I would recommend going with a hard backplate and seperate single and double tank wings because IMO a hard backplate will support doubles better and a wing built for two purposes can't really do either as well as a dedicated wing for each purpose can.

I purchased my transpac with rec wing about 5 years ago.
I find it's fine for singles and ok on twin 80 aluminum's.

I'm now using twin 98's steels and the transpac is too floppy.
I've switched to a backplate and 80 lb wing, it's more stable and more comfortable.
