I think they added sherlock clips to the weight pouches.

Brian

The Transweight pockets haven't changed from what I can see. But I could be mistaken since I never saw the old ones. They definitely do not use the SureLock system which is patented by Aqualung/Seaquest. I guess it's possible they came out with an updated version which I have yet to see, that uses a similar mechanical release, but it wouldn't be SureLock.

That said, Apeks, an Aqualung company has come out with their TransPac competitor called the WTX Harness. As an option they offer SureLock weight pouches that can be adapted to this harness. I have been trying to figure out if those pouches can be used on a Transpac, so far no luck. I'm sure they could be modified to, but from what it looks like, they bolt to a special piece of webbing on the WTX harness. I have an e-mail into Aqualung to find out for sure.

Huh... wonder why they switched to rubber. I'd have thought the cordura to be tougher in the long term.

Upon closer inspection. The hose retainer straps are made of the same webbing as the rest of the harness. There is just a rubber embossed "badge" applied to it.

The new weight pockets do have locks on them, I just don't know if they were added this year or last as my Traspac is a couple of years old.
