A brief report. We rented a condo at Conch Club and did all of our all own cooking. The condos are on the water, have a couple of pools, BBQ, bikes, kayaks. They are newish, clean, fully equipped kitchen, and very comfortable for 4 people. The local store has a descent selection of foods. Though we brought a bunch staples from home as the prices are quite high. Perfect for two couples as we like to cook. We did eat at the Hungry Iguana which is the only true restaurant on the island. Doing our own cooking saved each couple $500-$600. Just depends on the amount of booze ya drink.
For diving one can use Conch Club Divers who do morning dives and afternoon dives if there is enough demand. Because we wanted to afternoon dives regardless we decided to dive with Reef Divers. It just made things easier not to jump between boats (Conch Club uses the same dock as Reef Divers). We did one night dive.
Reef Divers has a streamlined operation. You set you gear up once and done for the week. We took our mask, fins and wetsuit off the boat each evening. There are three places for donning gear at the back of the boat. (i.e. you sit down and the staff brings your gear to you - no walking on deck with gear on). Works quite well. We noticed that many of the guest were repeat guests. Making second, third, forth, trips.
We did all of our dives on Bloody Bay Wall which has a very healthy reefs. The groupers were pretty funny. Got photo bombed more than once as well as push around. All in all good fun. My only warning is that there are many swim throughs. On many dives we skipped them mostly because the first party through had members what well could not fin worth a damn and it was a slit cloud. As such, it you go with a group suggest that folks rotate being first through any swim throughs so everyone can enjoy the experience.
FWIW flights to Little Cayman via Cayman Airways notes carry on weight limits. They did not seemed concerned with them only the one checked bag.
