Hi all,

Just new to the forums and just freshly registered, i feel all shiny and new for now!!

I'm from Dublin in Ireland, and am open water qualified. Have only done about 16 dives, but have been lucky enough to dive in Ireland, Bahamas, and Australia, and snorkelled everywhere my girlfriend can tolerate sitting on a cold rock waiting for me!!! She thinks i love the fish more than her, hope she doesnt ask me to choose!!

The highlight of my dives was seeing and scaring off my very first spotted eagle ray. What a beauty it was too.

My best snorkel was in fiji where i was on my own and found i had the pleasurable company of 4 black tip reef sharks in about 2 metres of water. Thrilling, and will always leave a great impression on me. That snorkel actually goes down as my favourite dive!! The reefs in fiji around the islands are exquisite, best i've seen anyway.

My most challenging dive was in Dublin, ireland. Currents, buoyancy control, getting the attention of the dive boat after surfacing, and the very limited vis all made it an incredible experience.

Anyway, enough of my irish banter, hope i can learn some new stuff off everyone here, and maybe even help others here too. Seems like i'm in the right place for dive mad people. Its like an asylum for the dive addicted. I'm very pleased to say that my name is brian and i'm addicted to diving!!!

Hey snorkeldude, welcome to SB, got some other divers from Ireland posting here, watch out for that big greeny "scubafreak" :bounce: He's not right in the head. ;)
If Lil 'Irish Temper says Hi, ask him to sing Danny Boy for you, he can really belt it out :froze:
Sounds like you have done some really nice dives.
Welcome to the board.

Ah Lad, So how are we today?

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.

But come you back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'tis I'll be there in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.
And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.

And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me
And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be
If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me
I simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

Probably at Durty Nelly's :D

Oh, and welcome to ScubaBoard

I drove from Shannon down to Cork back up to Dublin in '88. You ever been to Texas...:icon5:

Let me know if I can help you find your way around here...

:cowboy: don

Teresa38:
Did you belt this out in "Elvis" or "Irish" accent?

It would be a sin to sing it anyway but Irish.

Come on, I sang Oklahoma to you. Thanks for reminding me also to change my Header . . . What to be, What to be?

Hey you changed your avatar, nice. Read your profile, did you build my refridgerator? ;)

Thanks,
I could have built your fridge! We make about 900 of them on one shift, on one line. We have 2 lines going on 3 shifts and 1 line on 1 shift. I can't believe this planet uses 7000 refridgerators in 24 hours!!! Where do they all go??

Well I see you have never dove the bottom of Lake Erie then, if you are asking that question. :D

Oh yeah, Hi again snorkeldude
