OK, the reason I asked is because I have one that Backscatter put the new control boards in that I run a Sony HC9 in. It has all the goodies and upgrades with it. I am really considering selling it and buying the Stingray G2+ and a CX550 this year. Im just trying to recover from the sticker shock of the new setup. Keep it in mind as part of your options.
 
I've never replaced the rear o-rings in either of mine and they still work just fine. However the climate here may be largely responsible for that (moderated temperatures and humidity). The magnets in two of my switches have rusted to the point that they were unreliable so I simply removed them.

However parts availability is an issue that should be researched.

I prefer the fact that the housing is somewhat universal (for LANC controlled camcorders). I've had a number of different Sony models in mine and am glad I didn't have to buy a new housing for each one.
