Dive Computers are Great but always use a table (Dciem,Us Navy,Padi......) what you are trained on PLAN THE DIVE, THEN DIVE THE PLAN!
None of us like to Think it will hapen to us but....
Be-able to drop your weight without thinking (dont pratice under water but standing in a pool)
most divers found after acidents still have there weights on.

Lots of good things in this thread.

Don't be afraid to say no to that drink at dinner. Many divers drink too much, especially after diving. Alcohol increases the risk of DCS. You shouldn't have to drink to have fun.

Dont post on scubaboard to find out if you are bent.....go to the doctor!!!

Don't wear pink dive gear. That stuff is just wrong.

Don't believe everything you read on ScubaBoard.

You can find lots of good advice/opinions on here and many times that's all folks are looking for anyway. But sometimes what is presented as facts/truth are still nothing more than opinions, but really strong opinions.

honestly after diving for many years...DON'T touch my gear unless you were asked to or you asked first..next my pony bottle is not in case YOU run out of air

I would have to agree with everything that has been posted so far. We should always be learning as divers. The last lesson I learned was that silty water can be a GREAT ocean dive. I still kick myself for leaving the video camera on deck on a dive in the Bahamas. Shallow wreck, 20 foot max depth, vis was maybe 10-15 when we had been diving 60-80 and better vis. There were so many turtles, rays, and everything else on that dive BECAUSE the vis sucked.
