Well dove fort foster in maine yesterday great dives no issues plenty of live sea ravens, flounders and lobsters you can't have:)

this morning i dove with cape ann divers on the chester poling, well it was the deepest i have been with my dysuit and i don't usually put that much air in my suit, i had read on hear that if you can tolerate some squeeze you willl be better off, well i apearantly can tolerate too much because when i took my shirt off after the dive i have these blood red spider web looking marks all over my arms and legs from the suit squeezing me. People think they are disturbing looking but i think they are cool, i have never seen anything like these before. Moral of the story use air in your drysuit when below 75 ft. also double check your neck seal is right so when you are waiting for the ladder you don't get a bunch of very cold water down the front of your suit soaking your under garments.

Wow dude, you should have put more air into the suit. DIdnt it feel a little uncomfortable???

Have the marks gone away, or are they still there?? Thats kinda freaky...

Bill Harvey,
Your undergarment may have been the culprit more than your suit. I will get marks sometimes. They're not permanent but sometimes difficult to explain to the wife. I impress friends that I'm into S&M.

I've had the same thing happen on dives as shallow as 50ft.
Usually though the cold is enough to convince me to add a little air before the suit starts giving me hickies.

If your undergarment is not thick enough then you are going to get them. I usually add a little squirt of suit gas every 20'.

Moral of the story should be: add a little before you get to 75'. ;)

Uncle Pug, I remeber your posts saying a little squeeze is ok, it wasn't comfortable but it wasn't as bad as OC training or when i had my jaw dislocated, but now i know better and will use alot more air, the marks are still very dark i think they will be with me for awhile. I guess i am tougher than i am smart:)

... squeeze means different things to different folks.

The suit should not be so snug as to limit range of motion.

As was already stated the suit hickies could indicate that your undergarment is not thick enough.

With the correct undergarment you would end up with limited range of motion before you would get to the suit hicky stage.

... I am not familiar with an 18oz Harveys.

I do know the one time I tried to get away with using sweat pants and sweat shirt I ended up with some interesting tats... fortunately temporary. :D

Just keep your range of motion but don't let the suit get sloppy loose on you.
