Gotta go... time to take my Geritol and work some Grecian into my gray hair!
Thanks Don!

DandyDon:
They have no meaningful recollection of the Reagan Era and probably did not know he had ever been shot. (I remember the experience of the Kennedy assassination.)

How many remember Regan as an actor?

They were 7 when the Soviet Union broke apart and do not remember the Cold War.

Children often draw crude picutres of their fears. I remember in elementary school drawing Atomic Bomb Clouds.

The statement "You sound like a broken record" means nothing to them.

I still catch myself using the term GROOVY, and do I get strange looks.

They have always had an answering machine.

As the oldest child, I was usually the one designated to answer the one phone in the house, taking messages for my father's cattle business, and - dreamed of the future when I heard we would have cordless phones that could be used in any room.

They never heard: "Where's the beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel," or "De plane, de plane!"

I guess those are mostly U.S. terms. Now that I've not had TV in my home since 1988, I often feel un-clued when people talk about recent TV shows or commercials.

Wow ... with all this geriatric talk around here, we better start discussing

1. Dangers of underwater napping
2. How to obtain bifocal masks
3. Expanding p-valve into a full P&BM-valve
4. Suggested article - "Memory - How not to forget you're underwater"
5. Frustration of someone diving 3 kicks-per-minute in a 35-kicks-per-minute zone.
6. Suggested new product - Integrated false teeth/scuba mouthpiece
7. Waterproof pill dispensers
8. Diving in this world, and the next
9. DIR article ... "A Second Wing: Streamlining your comb-over for maximum efficiency"
10. Relative merits of a senior rate on fill cards.

Snowbear:
Now that's just cruel! :D

No ... really ... where can I get a bifocal mask? :frown2:

Yeah, but the monkey was the real talent. :54:

I remember those pictures, my mom was so understanding though. She would help me by pointing out that when a body is burned really really fast, like from a close Atomic Bomb, they would just be skeletons. (joke, did not really happen)

LOL took me a long time to replace "Groovy" with "Cool", only to find out I'm still wrong.

We were *not* allowed to answer or use the phone in our house. Plain Black Rotary Phone of PAIN! A telephone is not a toy, and children are just not allowed, PERIOD.

Boy, now that would be one item I would not try to prevent from coming back. Think of the peace and tranquility in the house.
