You guys should do the Forest City! I was there early this spring and it was a great wreck...Little deeper but awsome in every way. 150' to the very stern but rest of it is much shallower. We also stayed at the "Adventure the Bruce Inn" nice place clean and cheap. Check out www.divingmichigan.com for our tobermory pics.

We did the Forest City last year when we were blown off the Arabia. We hit 120' on that dive, we're not tech divers and we dive AL80's so we can't go to the really cool parts. It was a nice wreck but very dark that day and the vis was a little stirred up, we really couldn't get any pictures, even the flash wouldn't penetrate the blackness well enough for a decent photo. Hubby wants to go back to the Arabia (he's dove her before, I haven't) and get a picture of the plaque/monument. Dan Orr and Wright State University (where I teach scuba) put that down there, hubby didn't go on the trip when they put it down though. He wants to get a picture to send to Dan so he can see how it's fared through the years.

It's funny that I've always heard about how dangerous and challenging the Arabia is to dive but hubby says it's not that big of a deal. He had always heard how challenging and dangerous the Forest City was and the university (and he) never dove it. He still thinks the Forest City is much more dangerous than the Arabia because losing your buoyancy and falling onto that slanted deck could possibly send you sliding down to 150'.

Thanks for the link to the pics!

Although I have precious little experience, I agree. It's cold and relatively dark, but little current... Mind you, my GF's reg freeflowed during that dive (from the cold, probably)...

Momerial day we dove Tobermory and the Vis for 80'+ and clam sea. Its a great time to go nobody else is there. We dove it G&s and had a great time only the 5 of us on the boat. We hit the Araiba also and i thought it was a pretty straight foward dive with little obsticals.

My Dive Rite G2500Ice has been faithful to 135' and 38 degrees and hubby is diving an Apeks, I can't remember which one but it's happy in cold water so I'm not too worried about free flows for us. We our group to do a little cold water free flow training during a shallow dive safety stop prior to doing deep, cold dives to make sure everyone has recent experience with a free flow if one does occur.

We dove there the week before Labor Day last year as well and it was originally just going to be my husband and I going to the Niagara II and Caroline Rose until a 3rd diver signed up at the last minute. Luckily he was a great fit into our buddy team even though he had less than 50 dives and we had so much fun we booked the afternoon charter (which was empty) as well. The next day (when we dove the Forest City) it was my husband and I and two guys who were going to go to 150'.

The week before Labor Day is great, nobody is there during the week. We were leaving on Saturday as things were picking up for the "last dive of the summer."
