I took a video of a spotted moray eel who did the same thing. He couldn't get it back into his house so he rolled it over and over again and finally pulled it inside.
 
We need the native fish to be taking the lionfish on their own. Sigh

I like to keep a positive outlook on this. I am hoping that by helping a few native fish to a meal, they might learn that lionfish are an actual food source and start doing it by themselves. It might be that they are new to the native fish and there is some confusion as who is the actual predator.

Think about this the next time you are having eggs for breakfast:
Somewhere in time, somebody watched an egg fall out of a chicken's butt and said to themselves "I wonder what that tastes like".
