to vest or not to vest that is the question

Hey all. just picked a fullsuit 7mil, went and jumped in the ocean(helpfull living on the beach). its cooler than my old 1/4" farmer john and beaver tail jacket which isnt a bad thing i think it will be plenty for the summer months in san diego and the channel islands.

But i definately think it will be too cold in the winter months so i was wondering if anyone who uses a sleeve less vest, does it add alot to the warmth? what thickness?

does anyone use a hoodless vest (cant stand thick hoods, they drive me insane. been using a darlex hood which is not much more than lycra and fur. and i use it year round)

So i guess i would be asking does anyone use a hoodless sleeve less vest, what thickness and does it add significantly to the warmth?

I recommend a hooded vest, just a vest alone barely helps. The water flushing down the back of the neck still gets ya.
Go with a 1/8" - 2mm hooded vest, I used that in Lake Michigan under a 3/8" 1-piece & was cozy.
