Yeah, unless my tizip lasts several hundred dives I'll be replacing it with a brass one if/when it fails.

DUI is recommending the metal YKK zips again since June 30th 2015. They have seen inconsistencies with the plastic zips, but they still offer them for light recreational use.

So, it's a shame for everyone how bought an (expensive) suit from DUI and now have a suit with a plastic zip that might or might not work as it should.
It is after reading this article from DUI that I decided to get a metal zip on my drysuit. I wanted a plastic zip at first.
Lubrication:
Both ends closed TIZIP MasterSeal 10 zippers need to be lubricated on the docking end from time to time. Please use the original TIZIP lubricant or other available zipper lubricants. Carefully apply over the docking end surfaces on front, back and inside where they connect to the zipper chain. Repeat before long term storage leaving the slider closed and whenever the area is dry during use.
High humidity and temperatures over room temperature must be avoided!
Never had any concerns like this with brass.
