Ok how about this then:

I heard you on the wireless back in Fifty Two
Lying awake intent at tuning in on you.
If I was young it didn't stop you coming through.

DUDE!!!

Buggles, "Video Killed the Radio Star"

my turn:

Spinning on that dizzy edge
I kissed her face and kissed her head
And dreamed of all the different ways I had
To make her glow
"Why are you so far away?" she said
"Why won't you ever know that I'm in love with you?"

If I Should Fall From Grace With God - The Pogues

How about:

He's thinking of his lonely room
the sink that by his bed gives off a stink
Then smells her perfume in his eyes
and her voice was like a bell

Lou Reed, "Romeo had Juliette", I think...been a while since my underground period.

How about:

"Well, I'm west coast struttin',
You're with one bad mama,
Got a rattlesnake suitcase under my arm;
I'm a mean machine been drinkin' gasoline,
And honey you can make my motor hum.

H2Andy:
again... something whose airplay was longer than Minnie Vanilli's carrier would be nice

Andy,

The one I posted that brought the thread to its knees was from Motley Crue, "Wild Side"...I thought their career and the songs air-play was longer than Milli-Vanilli's carrier? Oh well, must not be many guitar/metal heads on the board...maybe I sould concentrate on some of the mellower songs from my past...:D .

"I’ve kissed mermaids, rode the el nino
Walked the sand with the crustaceans"?

How about Pixies- Wave of Mutilation

And now how about:

It's gonna snow outside, the weather will be cold,
but I'm gonna......

Connie Francis - "I'm Gonna be Warm this Winter"

Now -My fingernails are filthy, I got beach tar on my feet
And I miss my clean white linen and my fancy french cologne...

Come on down to the mermaid cafe and I will buy you a bottle of wine
And we’ll laugh and toast to nothing and smash our empty glasses down
Let’s have a round for these freaks and these soldiers
A round for these friends of mine"

Guess that one......
