Linda was killed last Saturday 'bout fifteen blocks from where she lives
in a car crash, people gathered around the gravesite, friends and relatives,
dressed in black.
Preacher mumblin' how she's bound to go to Heaven,
the service started at half-past ten, it was all over by eleven.

Counting Crows, "Big Yellow Taxi"

"Kneel down ye sinners,
to Streetwise religion
Greed's been crowned the King,
Hollywood dream teams,
Yesterday's trash queens"

I haven't a clue. I heard it on the radio and the DJ said it was one of those one hit wonders. If I can find the name, I can to to Apple's Music Store and buy it.

Now, I'm off to Mexico for 8 days.

Since we're at a standstill, I'll toss this one out:

Now poor old Bess got so darn mad
She ran away one day
To meet that travellin' salesman
With city-slickin' ways
We ran and stood beside them though
With shotguns by our sides
Me and Deke and pa and ma
Who yelled as they came by

it would help, you know, if you used lyrics those of us born during the second half
of the 20th century would recognize??

Must be a country song of some type based on the choice of words.

.....let me put on my cowboy boots, run out to my pickup, dig out the 8-tracks from under the gun rack and I'll let ya'all know what it is. :D
