Hi

I was wondering if any of you fellow divermasters or instructors have ever received tips from your customers?

As you know the Japanese don't tip. I think it is a cultural thing... not sure to be honest. But that having been said, I have gotten some pretty cool tips from some of the foreign customers.

Some of the most memorible ones were:

1) A United States of America Secret Service lapel pin
2) Cap'n Crunch Cereal
3) Dive Boots

Neat, right? I am always happy to get the tips but I never hint at it or beg for it, some times they just give them.

What about ya'll?:crafty:

You got a stolen SS lapel pin? Wow. I got a free lunch by this Indian guy and 2 cans of Asahi Super Dry from someone else. Oh...I also got $20 from someone too.

I have gotten monetary tips from American customers, a few times.

I learned a long time ago in the service industry that the best way to accept is to look the customer straight in the eye, and give a sincere thanks and handshake no matter the size of the tip.

Sometimes people from the US bring me stuff like Kraft Macaroni and Cheese or other kinds of treats.
