Great! You can tell I read well! I didn't even notice the rear trim pockets in the specs.

Appreciate it!

Yea you can use it without them BUT it's iffy with soft weights and small hard weights can fall out. I tend to use a lot of small sized weights, some 1 lbs and less, theses can fall though the lacing on the Ripcord system.

I don't have the ripcord system in my Zeagle so I cannot comment on the need for pouches for that part. Perhaps that is the case for that style. It would make sense looking at the specs for it. To clarify, I was referring only to the rear weight pockets. I just duct taped a couple of bullets together to make them big enough not to slip out the little space at the bottom of the pocket. Worked like a charm! :)

The rear pockets on mine are ditchable so if you needed to drop them, you could drop "some" weight instead of the entire belt or instead of pulling the ripcord. They might be a bit harder to dump since they are behind you (and a potential emergency) but it's kind of nice to know you're not dumping ALL your weight.

Instead of a ripcord system, mine has two ditchable weight pockets on the sides (as well as the two on the rear).

I did read the specs, just forgot about the rear pockets. Unfortunetly I did have to go with the ripcord system....so I did order two of the small zeagle weight bags to go with it. I don't want to be losing weight at depth...that doesn't sound like very much fun!

Thanks again,
Adam
