I like your post.

I have a rule that is often overlooked by begginning photographers. It took alot of error to get this cleared up. 1.The rule is for pictures underwater with strobes.
"if you can reach it - take the picture, if its more than three foot away, don't waste your film, your flash won't reach that far.

This helped me improve my photos tremendously.....:). This rule means you might have to wait or slowly work to get close to your subject.

My rule #2 is brackett, change your f-stop up one and down one from the f-stop you are shooting at. Sometimes you'll be surprized what shot comes out better.

Someday soon, I'll be going digital. There is no more R&D in the film field, but for now film is still affordable.
