Tinnitus ramps up, no reason

Quite a lot of literature says this. I have rarely drunk anything other than redbull over the past 3 months.

Let's drink lots of water over the next week and see if it helps.

I stay pretty well hydrated since I am diving several times a week. Dive depths around 4 ata for 60-90 minutes.

Hydration during diving is critical to my tinnitus staying stable. Best advice I got from the doctor was to watch my fluid balance, everything that you drink needs to come back out within 60-90 minutes, amazing how you can be surrounded by water and still be a liter low.

I also take Sudafed once in a while as it helps a little. Taking of NSAID’s sets it off, as does any loud noises.

FWIW. I know a lot of people don't want to hear this (no pun intended), but anybody suffering from tinnitus should really consider going to an audiologist, and possibly get fitted for hearing aids. As adults we all suffer from hearing loss, even those who have not had their hearing abused occupationally or environmentally. I have tinnitus, as well as hearing loss (I was a marine engineer for 35 years). I got hearing aids last February. Just good quality hearing aids, they are not fitted to attempt to cancel my tinnitus. They are small, I wear them everyday all day, except for showering, diving, and swimming. They are great on the phone, and for the watching TV as, they are blue tooth enabled. Point is, my tinnitus has been drastically reduced and is often absent for long periods of time, something that never happened before the hearing aids.

I've had tinnitus since 1998. I concur with what @Pipehorse said. For what it's worth if anyone's going to consider getting hearing aids, if you're like me, you probably don't want to get them because of how they look. Tinnitus is noted as one of the potential side effects
