I ordered one.... thought for my husband, but guess I'll get it and he'll adopt my nice... whatever it is that is too complicated for me to figure out. ANYWAY>>>>

Looking at the website... I did note and think it was funny/odd that most of timex's watches were rated at greater depths (100m-200m) than their dive watch. What are they thinking???? If they can make the rest of their similar watches good to 150m... why not this one???? Weird people!!!!!!!!!!!!

The depth rating may be a result of the fact that you have to roll the stem to get to some functions, and push the stem to access others - all of which is not recommended under water. I had mine to 85 feet yesterday with no ill effects. Remember, though that it is only a timer - it does not measure nitrogen build-up.

MgicTwnger:
I've been using one for about 1.5 years, no problems. The reason for the low price is probably because Timex has discontinued that particular model.
My only complaint is that it comes with a regular size band and can be a really tight fit unless replaced.

I bought one this summer, & have about 20 dives on it now. 'Best feature is the automatic activation below 3 ft or so, but have you noticed the temp. reading is about 5 degrees high?

Mine is within a degree or so of my computer, which I believe to be pretty accuate. The important features for me are depth and timer.

Just got mine today via FedEx--- it is really nice and works just great!!!!

...for the thread

I just ordered these for myself and family. I have been looking for a backup timer with temp numbers big enough to read. A depth feautre too is perfect! I have been looking for a backup.

I order from this outfit all the time and have been very satisfied with them. Sort of surprised I didn't come across this before...

If you consider that the "street price" is $60-80 then the $40 is indeed a good price.

There is limited band range (7.5 inch to 8.5 inch) so it may not work over a wet suit.

From the manual:

WARNING: While your i•CONTROL® Setting Systems watch IS designed to withstand the pressure of underwater use and IS waterproof, it is important that the crown is NOT pulled out and the buttons are NOT pressed while the watch is underwater.
This will compromise the seal and could damage the watch.
• Watch is water resistant only as long as the lens, buttons, and case remain intact.
• Rinse watch with fresh water after exposure to salt water.
• Do not eat watch.

I'm barely able to fasten it over a wetsuit and have extended the band.
I've pressed the crown plenty of times to activate the backlight with no problems.
I've never been tempted to eat the watch.

Just got mine. Any one read the manual??? TOOO Funny!! My husband sat down and read it just because he felt left out when I was laughing so hard reading a manual!!! Wonder if the other language versions are equally funny or not???
