Hey Thanks! i was looking for an inexpensive bottom timer. Looks like just what I was looking for! Ordered two (one for my lovely bride)

I forgot to mention that I ordered one tonight also,,,,,I think it will be a great dive watch,,,and for the cost--can't beat it.

I've been using one for about 1.5 years, no problems. The reason for the low price is probably because Timex has discontinued that particular model.
My only complaint is that it comes with a regular size band and can be a really tight fit unless replaced.

I just picked one up. It's pretty neat.. not too useful as a primary depth gauge since it only updates every 5 seconds, but good enough to use as a backup or in a pinch. Am slightly concerned about the depth rating, so that reduces its usefulness further to a backup on shallow dives.

I've had mine down to 120-130' a number of times without any problems.

If I were diving below 166' I would say other pre-cautions are in line besides that Timex (I am sure you do that anyways). They also rate these dive watches with a bit of conservatisime built in I understand. A depth/temp sampling every 5 seconds is pretty darn good,,,most dive computers sample at 15 seconds.

The way I've always understood it, 50m water resistance is good for swimming, 100m is the minimum for any sort of diving. I dunno, it works so far, but I wouldn't rely on it.
