Can't say that I disagree with any of what you say. Do you still swim regularly?I agree that doing the 400 is (simply) a measure of fitness (and efficient swimming mechanics), not something specifically related to a rescue scenario. That being so, I question when folks start referring to it as, say, "What if.... happens? Will you be prepared to assist someone?" Still trying to figure out a scenario that they may be referring to.
