Wetwork for Hire
I own 3 Tilos wetsuits. Being a newer diver you often have to rely on the advice from others or your LDS when it comes to gear purchases. My LDS sells Tilos suits. I asked why? And they replied, "They just flat out damn near last forever." Sounds good to me. That and coupled with the fact these guys practically dive everyday and live in caves I figure their suits take a good beating with the constant contact with limestone. So I purchased their suits.
In my AOW class over the weekend I had an unfortunate incident with my 7/6/5mm Zenith semi drysuit (Awesome suit btw) after the first dive using it. Not to get into too much detail, but I believe there was a defect in the neoprene on the sleeve cuff that led to a failure. This was post dive while doffing the suit. Also, I doubt this would be the fault of Tilos, but probably someone in some factory producing neoprene. Anyway I wasn't sure what to expect when I called them today and explained the situation. But boy was I relieved and happy I chose to buy their suits. They asked that I submit a picture of the suit for ID, the damaged area and proof of purchase and so I did. I get a call back later this evening and the very pleasant woman I had been working with just wanted to call to confirm my address so they could ship me a replacement.
Wow, what a refreshing experience. How many of us have had to fight with companies to make things right or worse just get shafted? Their customer service was exceptional and that is why I'm posting this here. If you're in the market for a quality suit from a company that backs their products and takes care of their customers you need to give Tilos a look. They now have a customer for life. For the record I own their 1.5mm metalite, 3/2mm skinsuit and the 7/6/5 zenith. All have been excellent to dive in and give me incredible free motion. Including the semi drysuit (a seriously warm suit, 60 degree temp and you wouldn't know it).
