Tiger shark at Easton Beach

The article says Easton Beach Westerly. I've never heard of an Easton Beach in Westerly, being the paper is the Newport Buzz I'd think they meant Easton Beach (1st Beach) Newport.

Curious how they suspected it was Tiger. Wouldn't tigers be pretty rare up here? Anyone seen seals near FT W?

Tigers aren't really seal predators although they will eat them. Their diet consists of a wide variety of critters including bony fish, sharks and rays and even birds.

Thanks. The seal question had more to do with all the great white activity off cape cod. Wondering whether they might possibly be in the area.

After the filming of JAWS was complete the tiger shark they used in the part of the filming was released off Martha's Vineyard. Maybe as a result of that release we have a little tiger shark population here in NE?

Seals at FTW? Never seen any but that would be in the winter which is when they are usually spotted in the bay. They'd have to be on the rocks to be seen at FTW.
