Talking to my LDS today, re: the professor killed by GW 3 weeks ago, turns out she was on a boogie board, with bait, feeding the seals/sea lions in the area, a practise she did on a regular basis, so it looks like she was an accident waiting to happen zeN

Yikes......thats one way to attract sea lions.......................and big sharks

Harkening back to my list of shark avoidance rules, let us count the ways these were violated in this case:

1) solo
2) surface
3) boogie board (akin to surf board)
4) trailing a stringer of speared fish
5) near a colony of sea lions
6) splashing noises on the surface
7) poor vis

Its a wonder there was only one GWS. :(
