Yes, the external strobe makes a big difference.
I was happy with my pics using the internal strobe but now that I can compare them to the external strobe pics I see a big difference. I find myself replacing the pics on my website one at a time with the external strobe pics.
 
Just wanted to thank you Gilligan. I always look forward to checking your pics out at the end of the day, great stuff. Makes me want to go swimming...

Great pictures and so colorful. I look for your pictures everyday. You take some excetional pictures. Scuba_star and I and still learning how to use the strope on our set up. Big learning curve for us. Keep up the great work.
