I am a new diver and was thinking about investing in a computer. I will admit I know little to nothing in this area, but trying to learn. I like the Aeris XR2, it appears to do what I want/need it to do. What are your opinions and or experiences?

MY wife and I both dive with an XR-2.

I have about 75 dives on mine with no problems at all. It is more conservative than my backup Cochran captain and my buddies Cochran Commander.

It doesn't lock up if you take it into Deco even on multple dives, it does have gauge mode and Nitrox.

The download cable is a little tricky to maintain contact.

If you have any questions please ask.
