Yup, still looking for a buddy for Sat in RI.....weather looks good! May need to twist some arms....:D

Looks do-able...

Just checked the map, about 2 hr. ride for me... (Harrison Ave.)

What time are you thinking??

MSilvia:
My group's diving the south shore of MA, johnnyseko's doing RI, and Matt_Unique is going to be on Cape Ann.

Why assume RI?

Not sure why I assumed RI...

Matt_Unique, mind me tagging along depending on where and when this weekend?

Had a great Dive Sunday with Matt at Cathedral Rocks. About 20ft viz, perfectly calm water, no current...I lucked out. Thanks!

Yeah we had picture perfect conditions at Cat...giant stride entry off the "finger", zero current, good vis, etc. I spotted one lonely fish on the dive but I could not get close enough to identify it. There were still a few lobster though not as many as I noticed last weekend.

Did my first dive of the year at Folly yesterday with a friend. It's great having that site all to ourselves.

Visiblity was very decent. Tested my new camera on some starfish and a puny juvenile cod I found under a rock. Threw some snowballs at the ducks. Good fun! Hope the pictures will come out well. No lobster or flounder yet.

Forgot to check the temperature, but surprisingly I wasn't too cold wearing a wetsuit (at least while moving.) I think I should join the polar bear club :)

We had a surface temp of about 39 at Brant Rock, and since we didn't get deeper than 15 feet, it was about 39 at the bottom too. Vis was a tolerable 10'+, but nothing special. The site is a super easy entry at high tide, with a rock jetty that it isn't at all suprising yields lots of bugs in season. I didn't see a single one sunday though.

Jeff got his backplate fitted a lot better, and it made a world of difference in his stability. An ill-fitting backplate won't do a diver any favors.

Lisa saw a good-sized nudi, but other than that, a bunch of thumbnail sized mollusks, and a ton of planktonic larvae, there wasn't much animal life to be seen.

I got a pinhole opening in my right drysuit cuff, so cold turned the dive and we were back out of the water in about 35 minutes.

Yes, you should! :D I could probably handle 39 F water -- I managed 40 F before, -- but I like the AIR to be significantly warmer than that. Do you have the pictures ready yet?

Chebby, do you know your mailbox is full? I just tried to send you a PM, and your mailbox would not accept it.

Actually my computer says it was 38F at 55feet. I'm cheap, so I won't develop the film till I finish it, it's only half full. So only after next dive.

Mailbox cleared. Thanks!
