there was too much stuff not about diving, so I'm here looking for stuff not about diving. I will also post about diving as it was one of the dreams of my youth, but doing diving at age 73 is not likely part of my future. I live in Jacksonville, Florida. Wife and I stopped to chat with some divers who were waiting for their buddies at a small sink hole. The rest of the team was in the aquifer swimming underground from another small sink hole 1.2 miles away. We all agreed that is a risky activity even in a group of very experienced divers. Neil

Welcome to ScubaBoard!

You're likely to find a whole lot about diving plus all the other things that we divers get up to in our dry lives!

And if you want to dive, don't give up...we have many 70 + 80 year olds who come dive with us each year. You just need to find intructors, shops and dive sites that suit your abilities and your interests!!

Hiya Neil, Welcome to Scubaboard. When you are ready to talk diving, check out the Florida Conch Divers Forum. That is where the dives in Florida are being discussed. Any dive/event posted is an invitation to join the fun. It sounds like you are in N. Florida, there is a Megadive in a few weeks at Ginnie Springs.

Welcome to ScubaBoard :D

It's been said that diving is 20 percent diving, 80 percent social. When you think about that, it's true. We do an awful lot of work and 'stuff' for a couple of 30 - 60 minute dives, don't we?

Hello Neil, I would like to welcome you to Scubaboard! Hope you enjoy it!

Neil,

No reason not to get certified for scuba diving at 73 if you are in reasonably good health. After certification, you can choose to dive under less challenging conditions than those you observed.

Come join us.
