Hey all:

Need to tell you about exemplary customer service that I experienced. This type of CS is just not found in retail today.

I purchased a Faber HP 120 cylinder from Joel at http://techdivinglimited.com/

I have been VERY pleased with my huge water heater and took it to the So Cal Wrinkles Dive this past weekend with y'all. A couple of experienced diving friends (Headhunter and Tech Admin) noticed a bit of rust forming next to the valve. I asked, "is this a problem?" they replied that that is bordering on dangerous. They asked me where I purchased it, I replied TDL and both smiled. . .

They said that Joel is a great guy and I will have no problem.

They were right, a couple of eMails and Joel fixed it! period!

I was so moved that I am going back to the website at TDL and purchase s'more stuff I dont need.

Can anybody say "Christmas Tree Tevis?"

Redundancy cant be so bad.

Thanks again Joel,

I hope other retailers are paying close attention. This is what service is all about. Good job Joel and good for you Praetor for posting this.

I purchased a 2 1/2" brass SPG from them online last Saturday afternoon. Very prompt email confirmation on the same day, and UPS tracking number was provided on Monday.

Received the SPG on Wednesday, although shipping was standard ground.

The SPG was of excellent quality and value. Hose and boot wwere connected/shipped as I specially requested.

I called Randy@TDI today as I may want to change the hose length. He was very accommodative and easy to work with.

This good experience may lead me to join their wreck dives aboard the Lois Ann.

Cheers

I'm glad you got great service, but Faber tanks are going to rust no matter where you buy them.

Well -- that is just not true.

I've sold more than 30,000 Faber tanks over the past 5 years and have only had trouble with less than 5 PERIOD.

The reason Tevis' cylinder had some rust is because there may have been a chip at the neck when the valve was put on exposing raw metal. Nevertheless we replaced it.

I have some faber cylinders going to 1992 with thousands of dives on them and they
are pristine. Anyone who knows me knows i beat the crap out of gear. Faber cylinders give users years of good service.

There was one batch of Faber OMS tanks that OMS did not put the triple coat on and those had some boot issues. But all cylinders that I have sold and used since 1998 have been without problems.

The triple coating of Spray Galvanize, Epoxy paint, and polyurethan give these tanks a perfect finish.

Cheers

Joel, so glad you found my post. As you can see, I stand in a looooooooooooong line of pleased, happy, and satisfied customers.

My little tail wagging,
T

I must have gotten some of the bad batch. I've had six Fabers and all have rusted.

Hi Phil,

I have two Faber Scubapro's LP95's I just picked up, that are 16 years old, they are in mint condition, I have no idea how they were treated in the past. I treat my gear as easy as shore diving allows, so, the test is on:D

Hi Joel,

I am in the market for a longer Reg hose and a few other gadjets. I will be checking out your store.

I didn't want to make it sound like all Fabers are bad tanks. I prefer the cold dipped galvanizing of PSTs over the spray on galvanized finish of the Fabers. I had two 95s that each failed hydro after only ten years. The three 80s I have now are all rusting. I've never had that problem with PST tanks.
