I certainly agree that if the wing is 1/2 full at 10 feet something's wrong but it's not uncommon for tall people (not necessarily the slightest bit overweight) to need phenomenal amounts of weight in a drysuit.

Also, I usually find that water pressure does a better job of purging the suit anyway and never bother with any particular burping procedure before entering the water, unless I'm splashing from a height i.e. a larger boat. Just my 2c HIH chris

Will. Doesn't USIA make a double layered form fitting fleece? I saw one at Divers Fair with a UWS Logo. It looked like the same one DUI has.

Most/All thinsulate garments have no stretch; therefore, they must be cut larger to allow freedom of movement.

Not true at all. I just got my Andy's ST1000 suit which feautures 3M Thinsulate Flex (100G thinsulate). I had the suit custom made, but it's so stretchy that it may fit you after all. Special order sized (such as LT) is +10%, truly custom is +20%; still, not bad!

Uncle Pug:
The UWS version will cost you twice as much as one from Softwear.

Don't you use Argon? :P

Uncle Pug:
The question that comes to mind:
Is the placebo effect of 100g Thinsulate = or > the placebo effect of Argon?

Yeah, it's actually a question, in Unc's hyperbolic sort of way.

You don't see much in the way of believable numbers rating the performance of either.

Suits with stretch are quite new, they didn't exist three years ago when I was last shopping. That's why I qualified my answer with the word "most".
